Day 1 Puerto Maldonado - Cocha Caiman - Lodge
We will welcome you at the airport or bus terminal in Puerto Maldonado then tour the city of Puerto Maldonado by bus including a visit to the obelisk "Mirador" (50m/164ft high) where we can get a 360 degree view. We'll transfer to the port "Puerto Capitanía" where we'll take a motorboat 35 mins down the Madre de Dios River. On the way, we have the chance to see turtles, birds, lizards, ronoscos, monkeys and caimans. After arriving at the Ecoamazonia lodge we will enjoy a fruity welcome drink before we settle into our bungalows followed by lunch in our cozy, rustic dining room. Afterwards we'll set off on a walk following the signs for "Caimán Cocha" (Caiman Lake) which is a small lake filled with black caiman (Melanosuchus Niger) and white caiman (Caiman Crocodilus). At the lake we'll enjoy the beautiful Amazonian sunset before returning to our lodge for dinner. We'll have free time either at the lodge's bar with an assortment of drinks or game room. Night in bungalow.

Day 2 Lake Apu Victor - Monkey Island
We'll wake up to sound of the howler monkey (Alouatta seniculus). After breakfast, we´ll hike into the forest on maintained trails with bridges to cross streams and rivers. Along the way we will pass through a flooded forest with its unique plants and animals until we reach Apu Victor lake. This small lake has clear water and is surrounded by marshes and giant trees. We´ll go up on the Observation Deck where we can enjoy a panoramic view of the lake and its inhabitants such as macaws, parrots, toucans, shanshos (hoatzins), camungos, herons, caimans and turtles with a slight chance to see the giant otter. We'll return to our lodge for lunch. In the afternoon we'll visit Monkey Island, just a few minutes from the lodge by boat in the middle of the Madre de Dios river. Here on this island trees provide shelter for monkey species such as maquisapas, capuchins, lion monkeys "leoncillo", frailes, cotos and other mammals such as the coati and sloth. Wecan also see a variety of bird species. We'll watch the Amazonian sunset then return to our lodge for dinner with free time at the bar or game room. Night in bungalow.

Day 3 Cocha Perdida "Lost Lake" - Monkey Island
After breakfast, we will venture deep into primary forests to the small lake and refuge "Cocha Perdida" (Lost Lake). Here, we can observe otters, turtles, tapirs "sachavacas", caimans and various multicolored birds and fish. This area is known for its expansive swamps and diverse lagoons "aguajales". We´ll go up on the observation deck where we can get a view of the forest canopy from a bird's perspective. We will conclude our exploration with a canoe ride on the lake before returning to our lodge for lunch. In the afternoon we'll have free time at the bar, game room or pool followed by dinner. Night in bungalow.

Day 4 Gamitana River - Lodge
After breakfast we will set off by motorboat on the Madre de Dios river to the Gamitana or Briolo River (depending on river and weather conditions) for a swim. We'll explore these extensive, winding narrow channels with opportunities to see wildlife up close. We can do some fishing or continue looking for birds, caimans and turtles. Here we have a magnificent view of the Madre de Dios river panorama. We will visit a local family near the river bank to learn about their agricultural techniques. We'll return to our lodge for lunch. In the afternoon we'll have free time to take more pictures, or visit the botanical garden to learn about medicinal plants and fruit trees. Dinner at the lodge with free time at the bar or game room. Night in bungalow.

Day 5 Ecoamazonia - Puerto Maldonado
After a restful night in your private bungalow you'll wake up to the calls of the oropendolas. We'll have breakfast before our return to Puerto Maldonado by motorboat. Again, we have excellent opportunities to see wildlife on the way. Transfer to the airport or bus terminal in time for any departures.
