The Sillustani burial site is an amazing complex made up by huge cylindrical tombs where the Pukara Culture used to bury their elite. It is said the Incas conquered them in the XV century and continued building theses graves improving the technique. Nowadays it is still possible to observe well preserve tombs including some carving icons. You will also witness the magnificent scenery of the nearby lake of Umayo, a nice spot still venerated by the local people. Finally, your group will visit some local potato and Guinea Pig farms.
This trip by bus with very little walking at the ruins. Bus transfers from the terminal or your hotel are included.

Sillustani is much less visited than other attractions.
Burial Towers of Sillustani
At 2 pm we will meet you at your hotel and take a tour bus to the western part of Puno and to Sillustani which lasts about 40 minutes. Along the way we have beautiful views of Lake Titicaca. At the archaeological site of Sillustani our local guide will show us the most important sectors of the burial site and will give us a good insight into the Andean culture. Sillustani sits next to Lake Umayo and offers wonderful panoramic views. Afterwards we will visit local farms just off the main road. Here we will learn about the economic activity in the area and how farmers plant their potatoes and breed their Alpacas, Vicuñas and Guinea Pigs. Finally we will return to Puno, arriving after sunset.
