Without a doubt the Ausangate trail has some of the most wonderful scenery Cusco's outlying areas offer. There is an abundance of wildlife, glaciers and high alpine lakes. Its also one of the most challenging in the region with three high passes over 5000m/16000ft.
This trip involves an average of 6 hrs hiking per day over rocky and steep terrain. There are mules to carry your pack and always an emergency mule for those who may need it.
Basic Tent and Camping Equipment included. Meals included
This trek is challenging with unique high elevation terrain. Previous acclimation to the altitude in Cusco is highly recommended.
This is a pooled trek with a group no larger than 14 people.
This circuit is less-travelled and not as touristic.
