These 10 days begin in Lima upon your arrival and continue South to Peru's desert where the legendary Nazca roamed centuries ago. After seeing the Nazca lines from a small plane you'll continue on to Arequipa, Chivay and Colca Canyon to see condors in flight. From Arequipa you'll fly to Cusco and see the city's ruins before exploring Cusco's Sacred Valley and ending with a complete tour of Machu Picchu.
This trip involves travel by plane, tour bus and train and 2 to 3 star hotels. Some light walking is required at the ruins.

Day 1 Arrival in Lima
We will be waiting at the airport holding a sign with your name on it. From there we will transfer to your hotel in Lima.

Day 3 Nazca Lines - Chauchilla - Arequipa

Day 4 Arequipa City Tour - Free Time - Night in Arequipa

Day 5 Arequipa - Salinas - Chivay
From Arequipa we head through the desert and populations of vicunas before arriving in Chivay, your hotel and the hot springs.

Visit the condor sighting "Cruz Condor" then return to Arequipa by bus. Night in Arequipa.

Day 7 Flight to Cusco - City Tour
Enjoy a short flight up to the Andes mountains followed by a guided tour of Qoricancha, Q'enqo, Sacsayhuaman, Tambomachay and Puka Pukara. Your tourist entrance ticket (BTG) is included. Stay the night in Cusco.

Day 9 Train to Machu Picchu - Return to Cusco

Day 6 Chivay - Condor Sighting - Arequipa
Leaving Chivay you'll see colonial towns and terraced Inca ruins on the way to the famous viewpoint called "Cruz Condor". Here, we have the morning to appreciate the Condors in flight over thermal vents. Return to your hotel in Arequipa. Night in Arequipa.

Day 7 Flight Arequipa - Cusco - City Tour of Cusco's Ruins
This morning you'll fly to Cusco arriving in time for an afternoon (2 pm) city tour. From 2 pm - 7 pm you'll visit Cusco's major ruins beginning at Qoricancha followed by the caves of Q'enqo, Sacsayhuaman, Tambomachay and Puka Pukara. Night in Cusco "Tika Wasi Casa Boutique" (or similar).

Day 8 Sacred Valley Tour - Night in Ollantaytambo
After a solid night's rest and a bit of acclimation to the altitude you will feel up for seeing Cusco's Sacred Valley. We'll spend the whole day there seeing the ruins of Pisaq and Ollantaytambo. We'll have some shopping time in Pisaq's big artesanal market and have a delicious buffet lunch in Urubamba. The day concludes in Ollantaytambo in the afternoon with time to rest or explore the town. Night in Ollantaytambo.

Day 9 Train to Machu Picchu - Return to Cusco
This morning we will board our train to Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu (1.5 hrs). After arrival in Aguas Calientes we will go by bus up to Machu Picchu Citadel. After a complete guided tour (2 hrs) we'll have free time to take photos for another 2 hrs before returing to Aguas Calientes by bus. We will return to Cusco by train arriving at night.
